Ian Graham
Chief Executive Officer
Ian Graham is CEO of QBE Lenders’ Mortgage Insurance Limited, and Chairman of QBE Mortgage Insurance (Asia) Limited based in Hong Kong.
Ian has more than 35 years experience in the financial services and lenders’ mortgage insurance market in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Ian served as a Company Secretary, Manager of Finance and Administration, and Regional Branch Manager.
Ian is a Certified Practicing Accountant, a Chartered Secretary, a member of the Australian Computer Society and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Ian is also a member of the ICA Lenders’ Mortgage Insurers Standing Committee, an industry body whose membership includes representatives of lenders’ mortgage insurance companies in Australia, which together write in excess of 90 percent of all lenders’ mortgage insurance business.
Jenny Boddington
Head of Risk & Operations
Jenny oversees the Risk and Operations function of the business bringing together Underwriting and Policy Servicing, Claims and Loss Mitigation, Technology Solutions and Services and Credit Risk Management Business units. Before Jenny’s appointment to this role in March 2008, she was head of new business ventures for QBE LMI. Jenny joined us in 2005.
Jenny has over 20 years’ experience in strategy, investment banking and private equity. Prior to joining QBE LMI, Jenny was Director of Private Equity for Deutsche Asset Management and before that she was a Director of Deutsche Bank investment banking in Sydney and in London.
In addition to her role at QBE LMI, Jenny holds a number of Board seats.
Jenny has a Masters Honours degree in Metallurgy, Economics and Industrial Management from Oxford University.
John Gallu
Head of Marketing, Product and Sales
John has a 25 year career across diverse sectors including, finance, energy, telecommunications, and transport.
John joined QBE LMI as Head of Marketing, Product and Sales at the beginning of 2009.
John originally entered the finance industry through ANZ in the Esanda Finance business. This was followed by senior management roles including Head of ANZ Margin Lending, Head of ANZ Private Bank Advisory and finally Chief Operating Officer of ANZ Private Banking.
Prior to his move into the finance sector, John completed his Bachelor of Commerce at University of Melbourne, then progressed through roles at KPMG and Shell, then on to senior management roles at Mayne Nickless and Optus.
Kate O’Loughlin
General Counsel and Company Secretary
As General Counsel and Company Secretary, Kate is responsible for managing QBE LMI’s legal, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, company secretarial and government relation requirements for QBE LMI in Australia and New Zealand.
Before 2003, when she joined QBE, Kate held senior positions at the law firms Freehill Hollingdale & Page, Corrs Chambers Westgarth and was Head of Legal at Deutsche Asset Management (Australia) Limited. She has more than 20 years of professional legal and commercial experience.
Kate is a member of the NSW Law Society, the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Kate earned her Bachelor’s of Arts and Law from the University of New South Wales.
Michael Savery
Chief Financial Officer
Michael joined QBE LMI in 2003. He has 28 years experience in financial services and the accounting profession in Australia, including 6 years in mortgage insurance. Michael is a Chartered Accountant (CA), a Registered Tax Agent and has a Company Directors Course Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Michael’s experience includes 12 years with KPMG principally in audit and assurance. He has also held various senior finance roles in Australia with HSBC, NatWest Markets, Salomon Smith Barney, and AMP.
Carlos Antoinette
Head of Claims & Loss Mitigation
Carlos leads Claims and Loss Mitigation at QBE LMI which incorporates claims management, realisations, default inspections, genuine hardship applications, recoveries and investigations. Before Carlos' appointment in August 2008, he was Head of Lending Operations for ING Direct.
Carlos has over 20 years experience in corporate, business and retail banking positions at National Australia Bank and ING Direct, and is passionate about customer service, generating process efficiencies and staff development.
Carlos holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Economics.
Stephen Campbell
Head of Credit Risk Management
Stephen is responsible for all operational aspects of credit risk management at QBE LMI, including credit policy review and development, long term portfolio performance monitoring and reporting and quality assurance programme design and implementation.
Stephen joined QBE LMI in 2005 as Manager LMI Credit Risk. He has 20 years experience in financial services and the accounting profession in Australia and is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and a member of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.
Stephen’s earlier experience includes 13 years with the National Australia Bank in Credit Risk Management, Risk Management and Business Banking. He also spent 7 years with Price Waterhouse, mainly in audit and business appraisal.
John Hearne
Head of QBE Business Development and Productivity Initiatives
John has worked in the finance industry for over 30 years. John joined the business in 1996 and until 2007 was responsible for the Information Technology function of QBE LMI.
His rich career has seen him involved in organisational strategy, management and direction of business operations, project management and business process re-engineering, facilities and business continuity management along with varied roles within the banking industry.
John is a director and Chairman of LIXI, a not-for-profit organisation which exists to help create electronic standards for the interchange of lending information in the mortgage lending industry.
John holds a Masters Degree in Business Management from the University of Technology Sydney and is also a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Michael Hinton
Head of Technology Solutions and Services
Michael Hinton has over 15 years experience in the US and Australia in the mortgage, financial services, and healthcare industries. He is currently responsible for ensuring QBE LMI's technology investment and strategy continues to deliver value to QBE LMI and its customers.
His previous experience includes developing commercial software for the US insurance industry and directing professional services for eBusiness and eBusiness products in the financial services industry.
Andrew MacLeod
Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management
Andrew MacLeod is the Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management and is responsible for enterprise risk management for QBE LMI. This role involves assisting the Board and management to develop and maintain the risk management framework. This comprises the systems, processes and people that identify, assess, manage and monitor internal and external sources of material risk.
Prior to joining QBE LMI in 2005, Andrew spent 10 years at KPMG in South Africa and Sydney in both the external audit and Information Risk Management consulting areas. During this time he acquired in-depth experience in financial and operational risk management through servicing clients in a range of industries.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Computing Science Honours (Bcompt, CTA) through the University of South Africa.
Phil White
Head of Capital Markets & Structured Transactions
Phil is responsible for managing QBE LMI’s bulk insurance channel and creating and delivering innovative structured finance solutions for financial institutions and the debt capital markets.
Phil and his team work with treasury departments, issuers, investors, arrangers, trustees and rating agencies to deliver credit enhancement and reduce costs.
Phil joined QBE LMI in 2006 and accepted his current role in 2008 when the Capital Markets and Structured Transactions division was created to fulfil the growing and changing needs of the market.
For the ten years before joining QBE LMI, Phil was a management consultant, working in UK, Europe, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Phil spent the first part of his career specialising in the UK commercial property markets. Phil has a first class bachelor of engineering degree and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Zali Rogers
Senior Manager, People & Culture
Zali was appointed to Senior Manager, People & Culture in 2010 and is responsible for overseeing QBE LMI’s human resources and culture and capability development functions. Zali’s responsibilities include people and culture operations and strategy, talent and change management.
Zali has over 12 years experience in human resources and organisational development disciplines, predominantly within financial services. Prior to QBE LMI, Zali was Head of Human Resources at Skandia where she assisted with the development and implementation of the organisation’s human resources framework and strategies
Zali has a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary), Bachelor of Education (Primary), Professional Diploma of Human Resources and is currently completing her Graduate Diploma of Human Resources. Zali is also a Certified Professional member of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
